So today it's boxing day and all the folks in Dumfries got an extra special, albeit late, Christmas present: 3.5 Richters of ass rocking earthquake!
At 10:40 AM on the 26th December 2006 we had an earthquake lasting just 10 seconds and as I say measured 3.5 on the Richter scale. It's the largest seismic activity to be recorded in the UK this year and the strongest recorded in this area since 1969, also on boxing day!
